Riding Greyhound

In what only can be described as the backpacker dash, Noah and I spectacularly crossed half of San Francisco, befriended a quarter of the passengers on the #30 Muni bus eager to help us find the #5 Transbay bus, and managed to catch the last morning bus to Santa Cruz with 2 minutes to spare!

Everywhere we go Californian’s  surprise us with their friendliness. Other surprises, most notably to Noah, include the lack of big Americans and the absence of Mc Donalds.  Having watched Wall-E and other choice US films, I can understand his expectations but I’m starting to see how the West Midlands really is the obese capital of Europe.  The average Californian would have a lot of Taco Bells to eat before they matched the average Brummie!

“Travellers” It sounds like you had an interesting week. Vodafone! After all the publicity, not supported by any US network – that’s a shame. Not many big Americans and Mc Donald’s not in every conner, then California is lucky state. Brummies have a lot of catch up to do, and need also to watch more of Jamie Oliver TV programmes. Your room looks like it has a stunning view.
