Let’s go Gozo

Coming to Mgarr NoahBy Noah – After a recommendation from a local we decided to take the ferry to Gozo for the day. Even smaller than Malta the island possesses many natural beauties including the Azure Window in Dwejra.

The local bus (cost 50c for the day) dropped us right at the site. It was beautiful. The limestone rocks were very interesting as you could see lots of fossils.

Our next stop was the Citadelle in Victoria before taking the bus to Ggantija Temples. These megaliths are even older, from 3600BC, than the pyramids and are so large they were thought to be built by giants. Over the years their purpose has changed from community to burial ground.

Tired but amazed at what we’d seen we took the ferry back to Cirkewwa. Ggantija Megalithic site
