French-English padel finals in Spain

Padel By Noah- We have discovered some interesting sports around the world such as Disc golf and Maltese bocci, but today’s sport was by far my favourite.

We arrived last night at a town on the outskirts of Madrid, called Villaneuva de-la Canada to stay with a lovely couchsurfing family, originally from France. That night the family introduced us to a Mexican sport called padel which has now spread across Argentina and Spain.

Padel is played in doubles on an enclosed court about half the size of a tennis court. Scoring is the same as  tennis and the balls used are similar, the main differences are that the court has walls and the balls can be played off them in a similar way as in the game of squash and that solid, stringless racquets are used.

This is how it is played- we weren’t this good.
